Its homecoming week, a stressful but memorable week. Since it’s around the corner teachers have nominated those who represent leadership among the Hawks!
These nominees are putting their best foot forward to try to persuade their peers to vote for them.
Homecoming week has many events leading up to the actual dance. This week’s spirit wear includes PJ day, white lie day, twin day, class colors, and country club vs. country. This brings out the fun and creativity of the week. It’s always shocking to see what people come up with.
Quincy Rupinta being nominated for homecoming court explains her feelings about being elected, “It feels good, but I also feel listened to because I did ask my teachers but they didn’t have to do it for me. I feel grateful that I am able to run and I will be happy no matter if I win or not. I just enjoy the sport and school involvement that it all comes with.”
This year’s homecoming theme is Tangled. It will be hosted in the cafeteria. Usually every year the main stairs are decorated as the theme and it looks outstanding.
Michael Asante explains his feelings about possibly winning king, “I will be very happy to win and I’ve wanted to win for a while now.”
So Urbana hawks let your power shine and may the best nominees win.
