American flags bearing the names of veterans line the grounds outside Urbana Middle School.
This Veterans Day, Urbana Middle School honored local veterans by displaying American flags, each one featuring the name of a veteran.
In downtown Frederick, the American Legion Francis Scott Key Post 11 held a ceremony at Memorial Park, bringing together veterans and their families.
Keith Clevenger, a former commander and active member of the Legion, shared his thoughts on the importance of the day: “Our veterans’ sacrifices shaped our community.”
These acts of gratitude and respect serve as a reminder that Veterans Day is not just a holiday, but an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who courageously served our country, and to renew our commitment to honoring them every day.
