My Top 10 Quarantine Netflix Shows

Thomas McGinley

Scents Covid hit in March all people could do is set at home. What a lot of people did was watch tv; more specifically Netflix. I did the same thing and for me watching I have compiled my Top 10 shows to watch.

Note that these were shows I watched during quarantine.

  1. The Umbrella Academy

Seasons: 2

Rated: TV-14

I liked this show which is based on the comic book of the same name by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba. It talks about super powered adults who years ago rose to fame as young crime fighters and they come together after their Dads death. It has some mystery, action and weird things that go on throughout the whole show. There is time travel,  nuclear apocalypse stuff, and the word ending. If your into 80’s and 90’s nostalgia, give this a watch.

  1. Last Chance U

Parts: 5

Rated: TV-MA

Mixing it up with a little football as in this sports documentary which goes to three different Junior Colleges and shows what life is like for their football team. It’s a Drama that shows players who didn’t get highly recruited out of high school and then still wanting their chance to play football at the next level. What I love about this show is that it takes a different view on college football. If you like football; I’d give this a watch.

  1. Bleach

Seasons: 5

Rated: TV-14

The first anime title on the list. This show has a manga (the Japanese version of a comic)of the same name by Tite Kubo. This is one of the first anime I watched and if you’re looking for a good starter anime I would do this. It is both in English and Japanese. It talks about how this teen boy, his friends who fight demons; and going to the land of the souls. There are a lot seasons you should watch that are not on Netflix; otherwise if your getting to anime or just want a new show to watch,  I would recommend this.

  1. Baki

Parts:3

Rated:TV-MA

If you like fighting or better yet martial art, then I would love this anime. There is a manga of the same name by Keisuke Itagaki.  It is both in English and Japanese.  It talks about a teen boy who is the best underground Materialist in Tokyo and how he’s going to be the strongest man in the world. If you like A LOT of action then I would give this a watch.

  1. Attack on Titan

Seasons:1

Rated:TV-MA

To be honest this is one of my favorite shows right now but there is only 1 season on Netflix. If they had all 3 seasons and were airing season 4 then this would be in my top 3. There is manga of the same name by Hajime Isayama. But it’s only in Japanese on Netflix. This show talks about a teen boy who unlocked these powers he didn’t know about and a government that’s lying to its people. If you like action and gore then give this a watch.

  1. The Promised Neverland

Seasons: 1

Rated:TV-14

We are now in the top 5. This show is based on the manga of the same name by Kaiu Shirai. This is in English and Japanese on Netflix. It’s about a girl and her orphanage brothers and sisters, who find out that their life is not what they think. If you are looking for a dark mystery then watch this.

  1. The Seven Deadly Sins

Seasons:4

Rated: TV-14

What I love about this show is that every character is talked about. You get to see the background and then develop over the show. This show is based on the manga by Nakaba Suzuki. The show is both in English and Japanese on Netflix. This is about a knight and his love for a girl; all the time he uncovers his team, and his dark past. If you want to watch a show with a fantasy look and feel then watch this.

  1. One Punch Man

Seasons:1

Rated:TV-14

This show oh my god; I love the protagonist. I love this show because well I like superheroes and 2 cause it gives these heroes more realism. This show is based form the manga by ONE. This is only in Japanese on Netflix. This show is about a man who is determined to be a hero and after years of training he becomes a hero. If you like superheroes and like to see them deal with real world problems then watch this show.

2.Hunter X Hunter

Seasons:4

Rated:TV-MA

This is my favorite anime of all time. The plot, the setting, the characters, the action, and the adventure. This is based on the manga by Yoshihiro Togashi. It is both in English and Japanese on Netflix. This is about a young boy who is off to become a hunter which is the best job in this anime and is off to find his dad. Who is the best hunter in the world. He makes some new friends along the way. If you like action and adventure this is a show for you.

  1. That 70’s show

Seasons:8

Rated: TV-14

This is my favorite show all time. I love the characters. Why this show is number one is because I saw my Dad watching it and I always asked what show is that. Then I ended up watching it and loving it. My Dad and I always make jokes about the show. The show is about a teen boy and the life he lives in the mid 70’s; in Point Place, Michigan. If you like 70’s nostalgia and comedy then give this a watch for sure but it’s off Netflix.

If you liked any of these show descriptions I would say give them a watch.
