The 2024 presidential election results are now in. Many students have mixed feelings around UHS with some being excited or upset.
The 2024 U.S. presidential election was a highly anticipated contest between current Vice President Kamala Harris running as the Democratic nominee, and former President Donald Trump as the Republican nominee.
When asked Jacob Lunny (Class of 2025) said that he was, “Very content with the outcome of this presidential election, I stayed up all night just looking at the news.”
The election comes in the middle of ongoing debates over the economy, healthcare, immigration, and the handling of national security. Voter turnout, campaign strategies, and the role of third party candidates were expected to be significant factors.
Both major candidates faced challenges related to legal issues and controversies, which added to the dynamic nature of the race. The election was set against the backdrop of a increasingly polarized political climate.
Former President Donald Trump is now elected as the 47th President of the United States.
