Recently, as the final bell rings at 2:15 p.m. students have been left to their own accord to find a ride home. The bus transportation system for Frederick County Public Schools has been encountering issues with bus and driver availability.
Unfortunately, the news of these issues have been given at very late notice. Therefore, some students aren’t given enough time to find a solution to finding a ride home.
Mr. Matheny, an administrator at UHS said, “If you’re a kid who absolutely cannot walk home because the roads aren’t safe or you are just live too far away or whatever it might happen to be, make sure you always have a Plan B.”
The FCPS database has now established a platform, updating every minute, to list the status information for the buses that are experiencing difficulties with the elements that get a student to school.
To avoid future issues with arriving home, stay in-the-know about the potential chance of your bus getting canceled and set up a plan with a friend or a guardian in order to get home safely!
