On Jan. 8 2025, FCPS schools are open. Monday and Tuesday school was called off due to inclement weather, but now students are back.
This snow storm hit a lot of the Central and Eastern U.S. Many students were satisfied to hear the news that schools in Frederick County would be closed. Today, schools were opened but with a 2 hour delay.
Jacob Lunny (Class of 2025) commented on the situation saying, “I was happy that school was canceled these past two days and that today was a 2 hour late delay because it let me sleep in a bit more during this mini break after our normal winter break.”
Deputy Kay was also content with the cancelation of the school day as well as being able to walk around to the front of the school on January 8, 2025 with three students to take a picture. The three students were Lucas Montero (Class of 2025), Troy Stanley (Class of 2025), and Ethan Reyes (Class of 2025).
Students and staff at UHS are happy to have a taste of winter snow. Thanks to FCPS, students could catch up on snow activities, and as long as we have a delay or no school, students aren’t complaining.
