Crumbl’s tasty cookies have been growing in popularity nationwide.
It seems like almost every student has tried one of their various flavors but this is surprising given that the nearest Crumbl to UHS is a whopping 12 miles away. Driving all that way for cookies isn’t very fun even if the cookies are ‘worth the wait.’
What makes these cookies so popular and why are they so good?
Well, the cookies have a cake-like consistency and their large size attracts consumers, but with the size comes a big price tag.
The cookies come in a regular and a mini size, the large cookies are about four and a half inches and come in boxes of 3, 6, or 12 cookies.
Crumbl is not the place for people wanting to cut calories though. The average amount of calories in a chocolate chip cookie from crumbl is about 720. That is a lot compared to a typical chocolate chip cookie which would be around 80 calories. You can check the nutrition facts on Crumbl’s website.
There is talk of the possible addition of a Crumbl Cookie Franchise in the new Urbana shopping center by Route 270. The potential location would likely bring lots of customers and longer lines.
Bryce Satterwhite (class of 2025) claims he gets Crumbl at least once a month. “I’m not gonna lie… If there was a closer location, I’d eat it every week,” Satterwhite describes.
Crumbl comes out with a new menu every week. What are some fan favorites?
Sattewhite claims, “It’s gotta be that peanut butter cup one I had; it was so good.”
Another senior, Thatcher Voltaggio, describes his favorites. “I really like the ones with caramel or the Peanut butter cookies, those are good too.” Adding, “I eat Crumbl at least once every two weeks.”
A Crumbl Cookie location in Urbana would be a great thing for most students like Claire Truszowski (class of 2026). She explains, “The one in Frederick is nice but still pretty far. I would get Crumbl more if it was closer.”
Voltaggio had a different opinion on what should take the spot, “I would like there to be a Crumbl in Urbana, but I would rather them make a Raising Canes.”
Urbana has been growing recently, and there are a lot of new stores being built. This makes it the perfect place for such a popular store like Crumbl.
A downside to having a store as popular as Crumbl right where you live is the crowd it can bring with it. Students also considered the amount of people that would come to Urbana to get cookies, especially since it would be right by the highway, causing traffic.
This is however a small price for a big cookie.
