Red Cross Club
December 22, 2017
The Red Cross Club offered at Urbana High School has been in motion since 2014 by Shivani Shah. This student took it upon herself to create it when she noticed Urbana offered many clubs to be a part of and Red Cross Club was not one of them.
She started the Red Cross club with the notion of giving opportunities of leadership and responsibility, giving back to the community, and helping others across the states. The club has been active for three years at Urbana High School. This is currently the fourth year for the Red Cross club.
The Red Cross club took initiative this August, before school started. The officers started the Harvey Campaign to support the devastation from Hurricane Harvey. They also started Hurricane Relief Fundraisers to support the big need for help. The week of Nov. 20 the Red Cross club closed the fundraising.
