Last Saturday, Emmie Voss was pleasantly surprised to find out that she had earned the President’s Award for Girl Scouts. This award, “recognizes one Girl Scout who demonstrates leadership, sensitivity toward others and brings unity to Girl Scouts.” 

Although the ceremony occurred over video, her overall efforts will not go unnoticed. Earlier this year Emmie conducted her Gold Award Project as a way to revitalize the commonly-used trail behind Urbana High School that included the construction of a new bridge. The impact that she has had will be missed when she graduates with the rest of her class this year.
