23 years ago today one of the deadliest attacks on American soil took place, changing our country’s way of life forever.
Urbana High School was founded in 1995, meaning a number of students attended when the tragedy struck. In the wake of such an event, the school sanctioned this memorial piece.
Located in the C wing stairwell, this piece depicts the New York skyline on that day, with the twin towers burning. Placed along the wall so the sun shines down.
Students at Urbana, such as Kaitlin Tretler believe it’s “an important thing” to have placed in the school.
Urbana is a towering example of the heart and soul of our country, and this piece allows a remembrance of those heroes fallen 23 years ago today. Our nation hasn’t forgotten, and neither has Urbana.
