Unfortunately, we are never in the know of when we will be in a life threatening situation. The discussion and practice of what to do in emergency circumstances is important.
Each day of “Safety week” students have been participating in drills to understand the protocols for different emergencies. When asked how safety week makes her feel safer, Claire Stevenson said “With the amount of drills that we do, I know that we are prepared for anything”.
After the increase in shooting incidents, it should come as no surprise to students that staff have become more dedicated to keeping students informed. “In terms of everything that’s happening in the world, it helps us to have a plan,” Mrs. Diggs said. “And you can see when schools are prepared, if something happens there are less lives lost.”
