Next time you pass through the main stairs in Urbana, you should take a look at the stunning art of Mrs. Williston’s Drawing and Painting class and Mrs. Robinsons photography class.
The colorful collection of real-looking lollipop paintings shows the incredible attention to detail of Urbana art students, and the quality skills of our future photographers.
Each piece by the photography class is a well captured display of the beauty found in the object, these pictures were then used as a reference for the paining students to use for their realistic recreation.
The two classes worked together to create a display, which shows the teamwork skills of both classes working together to complete the display.
UHS Yearbook and photography teacher, Mrs. Robinson (UHS staff) says that, “The project was meant to be a way for the photography class to make pictures that they know will be used by somebody, so they will try to do their best work.”
Art works like this are great at inspiring other students who may be yet to discover a passion for this type of art. The piece also is a great testament to the creativity and talent of Urbana’s young artists!
