UHS students always look forward to club day every month. Clubs allow students and staff to come together over shared interests.
At Urbana High School, DIY For Good run by Kaitlin Willens and Kaitlyn Fuchsman, is making an impact in the community through DIY projects. The club focuses on giving back to the greater good.
For today’s club day, students helped create winter scarves for the holiday season. It was a delightful club day, joined with holiday music and munchkins from Dunkin’. The scarves will later be sent out to the Frederick Rescue Mission, which seeks to rescue individuals and families struggling with poverty and homelessness.
This activity showed how small acts of kindness can make a big difference. It’s important especially during the holiday season to give back to others. The scarves handmade by DIY For Good club members was a thoughtful gesture for those in need.
