Last week, the Hawkeye received physical copies of their newspaper on Wednesday Jan. 8, 2025.
These newspapers were part of a shipment of newspapers ordered from a printing company called Newspaper Club on Dec. 20, 2024. Newspaper Club is an organization responsible for the printing and delivery of newspapers for numerous companies, including the likes of Spotify, The Guardian, and Mailchimp.
Once the newspapers were delivered, they were distributed to teachers on Jan. 10, 2025, and have since been handed out to students on Jan. 13, 2025.
The six articles in the physical newspaper were written by the staff of the Hawkeye Newspaper Club, a school club not to be confused with the printing company of a similar name.
Writers for the physical newspaper include Jason Holman (Class of 2025), Gloriousmary Ndalama (Class of 2026), Katelyn Sigouin (Class of 2026), Janelle Davies (Class of 2028), and Sue-ah Park (Class of 2028). A comic was also printed for the newspaper, drawn by Chris Oh (Class of 2025).
The school’s Newspaper Club is run by Mrs. Morgan Miske, the club adviser with support from Mrs. Samira Diggs, the Journalism class teacher. The club also being run by two student leaders, Holman the Editor-in-Chief, and Leah Jeffries (Class of 2026) the Head Editor.
