Andrew McDonald, a senior at UHS moved to Urbana before his freshman year and has attended the school since. During his free time Andrew does short distance swimming for a club and is the best freestyle swimmer on the school team. He gained interest in taking the journalism class so that he could learn valuable information and cover the news for the school. His goals this semester include completing his college applications and learning how to write in a journalistic style. When asked about what area of journalism he would like to cover he said, “I’ve always been interested in covering sports media and big sporting events”. After high school, Andrew plans to attend a four year university and currently plans on majoring in marketing or business. When asked about college he also mentioned “I want to go to a college in Florida such as the University of Tampa because I enjoy the warmer weather”. Looking into the future his career path is still undecided, but he plans on also working down south in warmer weather.
