Statement Necklaces:

Carolyn Says:  HOT. Statement necklaces are such a fresh, bold way to dress up an everyday outfit. Even though the loud style of the necklaces may be overwhelming for some, they come in such a wide variety of colors, sizes, and styles that it is easy to find the statement necklace that is perfect for you. Just remember to keep your other accessories to a minimum; you do not want your accessories to take over your outfit.

Bethany says: NOT. Statement necklaces are just too big and distracting. You want to look like you are wearing the necklace, not like the necklace is wearing you. I prefer the simple, dainty necklaces instead because they are noticeable yet not overpowering.

Team Tees:

Carolyn says: HOT. Cute, casual, and comfy, team tees may just be the perfect solution to the “What to wear?” dilemma. Not only are they extremely versatile, but wearing a shirt that shows off your favorite team is also a great way to show off your personality. That is what fashion is all about, right?

Bethany says: HOT. Team tees are the perfect combination between sporty and stylish, plus they are incredibly versatile. Whether you wear them with leggings or a pair of denim shorts, it is hard to go wrong with a Team Tee. Plus, wearing a team tee is a great way to show pride in your favorite sports team, whether it be a local team or a professional tee.

Smock Dresses:

Carolyn says: HOT. Smock dresses are effortless and breezy, a great choice for the fall.  My favorite thing about smock dresses though is how modest they are. You do not necessarily need a dress to be clinging to your figure in order for it to flatter you. As long as you take into account styles that flatter you, you can find a loose-fitting dress that makes you look just as good as your bodycon- maybe even better!

Bethany says: NOT. Smock dresses have absolutely no figure so they are oftentimes not flattering. Even though smock dresses are more modest than many other styles of dresses, they are hard to wear for people with a fuller figure. More often than not, smock dresses just look like an awkward looking potato sack with a trendy pattern.

Clutch Purses:

Carolyn says: HOT. Clutches and handbags are coming back in a big way this fall. We all have those essentials we like to carry with us when we are on the go — lip balm, compacts, etc. – why not carry them in style? Clutches can be found in a wide array of colors, patterns, and styles to suit any and every personality, and can even dress up your outfit just as well as jewelry. Plus, they are incredibly affordable. Need I say more?

Bethany says: NOT.  The point of having a purse is to make carrying around the necessities convenient and effortless. Not only do you have to carry your clutch purse around in your hand wherever you go, but clutch purses are usually either too small to hold everything you need or so big that they just look plain awkward. There is no slinging your clutch purse over your shoulder and forgetting about it unless it has a shoulder strap, which is usually just a cheap looking piece of twine or an uncomfortable chain.

Kimono Cardigans:

Carolyn says: HOT. I absolutely adore kimono cardigans! With the perks of being incredibly chic, these cardigans are also comfortable, and perfect for the cool weather that comes with the fall. This cute spin off of the classic cardigan is a great way to switch up your wardrobe this season!

Bethany says: HOT. Kimono Cardigans are not only cute, but they are incredibly versatile as well. And with a wide variety of colors and patterns, you can wear kimono cardigans with just about anything from a fitted tee and leggings to a crop top and high-waisted shorts. If you want an effortless yet fashionable look that you can wear anywhere, kimono cardigans are the way to go.
