People love sports but ever since the outbreak there hasn’t been any until now. The NFL is back, they just had to change some rules. What happens if a player gets tested positive for the virus or How the schedule will change?  And how do some NFL teams deal with fans in the stands? How will the NFL adjust to wearing masks?

How Teams are with fans in the stands?

After a week one with Kansas City playing at home against the Houston Texans there were people in the stands.Being that the Chiefs are 1 of 6 teams to have fans in the stands; only 17,000 were there. This is what  Chris Morre, an IT specialist for T-Mobile in Shawnee, Kansas had to say about this: “Yeah, the tickets were a little more expensive, throw in COVID, there are several factors that could raise the apprehension of being out there. But I just want to come out here and support this team, support the Chiefs.” So Morre is basically saying that it’s good to see fans in the stands but he still fears that the virus will spread.

The teams are probably going to lose a little money because there will be no fans in the stand for most teams. Those fans buy tickets and those tickets cost money and the money helps the teams.

How the NFl is adjusting to masks.

One of the news rules is that all team and league personnel have to wear a mask, players included. They rule also says that masks have to be worn in all team facilities and when traveling from game to game.

This is what vice president of football operations Troy Vincent had to say, “The NFL-NFLPA protocol, which reflects the advice of infectious disease experts, club medical staffs and local and state governmental regulations, requires all individuals with bench area access [including coaches and members of the club medical staff] to wear face coverings at all times.” This was after the Chiefs game.

He also added that, “Failure to adhere to this requirement will result in accountability measures being imposed against offending individuals and/or clubs. The face covering must be worn as designed so that it securely fits across the wearer’s nose and mouth to prevent the transmission of the virus.” What Vincent is saying is that if you’re not a player then you should be wearing a mask.

What if a player gets Covid?

Another new rule is what if a player gets tested positive for Covid-19? The first step is that they immediately islote, then they continue wearing a mask and then they go home ASAP. If a player demonstrates symptoms, they can return when at least 10 days have passed since their symptoms first appeared and at least 72 hours have passed since he last had symptoms. In both cases, if a player who tested positive must be cleared by his team. Also, all players who have tested positive and recovered will undergo additional cardiac screening.

New schedule

The schedule will be changed too. There will still be a 16 game season like the previous season.  There will be no preseason and as a result of this pandemic training camp was extended.  Players wanted an extended training camp so they could have a long time to get their bodies back into top shape.
