Kaitlin Willens, Reporter
Kaitlin Willens is going into her junior year at Urbana High School. She is originally from Pennsylvania but moved to Maryland at age 2. She moved to Urbana in 2012. She is involved in the school through the Urbana Varsity cheer team and other various clubs. This is her first year writing for the Hawkeye, as she joined the class to get better at writing and communication skills. She became interested in journalism after her great aunt worked for the Associated Press as a photographer. Kaitlin hopes to attend Clemson University to major in veterinary medicine. She was inspired to become a veterinarian after taking the Pre-Vet Small Animal course at Urbana with Ms Summers. She wants to specifically go to Clemson for not only academics but the lively sports scene. Outside of school, Kaitlin enjoys cheerleading, sailing, and spending time with friends. She is a part of the Maryland Twisters, which is an allstar cheerleading program. She and her family enjoy sailing on the Chesapeake Bay during the summers. Kaitlin plans to try out for the cheerleading team at her college or join a sailing club. She is looking forward to the upcoming school year and writing for The Hawkeye.
