Laila Kenney has been a student at Urbana High School for three years now. This past school year her favorite class to take has been the Dance 3 class. Within the school, she is a part of the school Poms team.

Growing up in Urbana, Laila has made a lot of friends that she loves to see when she is at school. They are her favorite part of being an Urbana student. Her favorite memory from her years at UHS was the Poms team senior night in which she and her teammates came to school dressed as trolls.

Along with being involved with dance in school, Laila has danced at Dance Company for thirteen years. Her greatest achievement was getting into the Storytellers Intensive and being able to travel to Los Angeles and New York City with the classes.

Following high school, Laila will continue her career in dance. She plans to either major in dance at a college or pursue a dance program outside of school.

Laila’s biggest role model in life is her mom. “She does a lot for me and she holds the family together,” she says.

“A fun fact about me is that I am scared of clear glass elevators, Laila said.
