This year’s Frederick County Public Library’s Summer Reading Challenge theme is A Universe of Stories.  Kids, adolesents, and adults are all encouraged to participate in this summer long event which started May 15th and will end August 31st. Everyone will be able to record the books they read on Beanstack to win some special prizes! You do not require a library card to participate, however, it is recommended since you can get better access to the books.

Your points will be recorded on Beanstack where you will be able to save up for the prizes. Here are the points needed for some of the prizes:

  • 0 Points: Sign Up and Win – A chance to win prizes just for signing up to play!
  • 500 Points: Halfway Prizes – Choice of book or one small prize.
  • 1000 Points: Finisher Prizes – Choice of a book or small prize and coupon for Bruster’s Ice Cream for all Finishers, plus entry into monthly drawings on July 1, August 1, & September 1.
  • 1500 Points: Intergalactic Prizes – Choice of a book or small prize, plus entry into drawing on September 1.
  • 5000 Points: Supernova Prizes – Entry into drawing on September 1.
