Today Urbana High School celebrated National Reading month by holding a Sidewalk Poetry Event after school. This took place at the front lobby of the school and was open to all students. The students who participated were able to write their poems on the sidewalk with colored chalk. The poems ranged from well-known classics to student originals. The many poems decorated the entrance to the school in a creative and colorful way to promote National Reading Month. For students interested in this event or for those who were unable to participate, Urbana is holding another Sidewalk Poetry Event on March 19 after school.
