A father-son duo is one of the strongest bonds in a family, and that is no exception with Andrew and his dad, Peter. Andrew has been camping with his dad for as long as he can remember, something they routinely partake in at least two times each summer.
What started with a simple question has given Andrew eternal memories to last a lifetime. “Hey Andrew, want to try out camping with me?”, Andrew’s dad asked him a very young age. Peter Jons was seemingly born to be outdoors, caping, hiking, kayaking; you name it. He can regularly be seen driving his Subaru with a kayak attached at the top, always ready for an adventure. Over the years, his love for the outdoors has been passed down to Andrew.
As Andrew gets older, he is starting to appreciate the time with his dad more and more. “Camping has taught me to live in the moment and cherish the time I have with my family”, Andrew said. However, while it is usually a family outing, Andrew decided to bring along his two best friends Max and Seamus to last years trip.
Under the guidance and leadership of Peter Jons, Andrew and his friends traversed Rocky Gap State Park in Alleghany County, Maryland (One of Andrew’s favorite campsites). “It was my first time camping with them. I had a blast”, Andrew exclaimed. 3 days and 2 nights were spent sitting by the campfire, kayaking, swimming, playing games, and talking about life. “The trip of a lifetime”, Andrew added.
As a whole, Andrew and his dad’s camping trips just go to show the love between the two, a tradition that means the whole world to Andrew. “I love camping with him because we get to spend quality time together as we bond an strengthen our relationship. It would be a blessing to carry this tradition on with my children”. Adventuring out on these camping trips has taught Andrew the importance relish the time he has with family, making memories he will never forget.
