Hannah Wright is a sophomore at Urbana High School. She joined journalism this year to pursue her passion for writing and storytelling. Outside of journalism, Hannah enjoys spending time outdoors through activities like hiking, camping, and kayaking. She is also deeply involved in Girl Scouts and is currently in her twelfth year. Through Girl Scouts, she has earned her Bronze Award, Silver Award, and Golden Torch Award, and she is now working toward her Gold Award.
Hannah has a strong passion for helping others, which is one of the reasons she enjoys working as a babysitter. After high school, she hopes to major in elementary education and minor in creative writing at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. When she isn’t exploring a new hiking trail or working on a Girl Scout badge, Hannah enjoys baking, listening to music, and watching movies. Her music taste ranges from classic rock to Disney classics. She believes that music and food are powerful because they bring people together, and she is excited to share meaningful stories through the Hawkeye this year.
