My name is Anais, and I am a senior at Urbana High School. I’ve always been interested in understanding this school and the world around me, especially through stories that reflect real life. My interests include crime, social development, reading, writing, and watching TV shows, all of which have shaped the way I think and view things. Writing has always been a strong outlet for me and journalism allows me to combine my curiosity with my voice.
Inside and outside of school, I’m especially passionate about the criminal justice system and real life issues that affect people and communities. I enjoy reading and writing about topics that challenge perspectives and start meaningful conversations. I believe that journalism plays an important role in informing others and bringing attention to issues that may otherwise be overlooked.
In journalism, I’m most interested in entertainment and opinion writing, as well as stories that connect school life to the real world. I’m looking forward to writing about real world issues, school-related topics and entertainment, while sharing thoughtful and engaging perspectives with those who listen in.
