Eleanor Crawford

Good Morning Urbana! Today is Wednesday January 6th.

Are you interested in participating in this year’s Annual Rotary “4-Way Test” Speech Contest? The contest is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Frederick County, and is open to any Frederick County student in grades 11 or 12. Contestants may speak on any subject, but must incorporate all aspects of the Rotary 4-Way test. If you would like to be considered for Urbana High School’s representative, please turn in a copy of your written speech to Ms. Ruby in the Guidance office by Friday January 15.

A preseason meeting for all students interested in trying out for tennis will be held on Tuesday, January 19th at 2:30 in room A154.  Any students who cannot attend should see Mr. Walton in the guidance office for information regarding tryouts and necessary paperwork.

What happens to all of your waste?  Do you know?  Are you interested in being involved in your community?  On Monday, January 11, Urbana High School will be hosting a “What’s Next?” Forum for the Frederick County Commissioners Waste Management Task Force.  Come and listen or see Mrs. McCook or Ms. Golibart if you’d like to speak on behalf of our student body and citizens of Frederick County.  The forum will take place next Monday evening from 7-9 in our school auditorium.  Come early for a private question and answer session with the committee at 6:30.  Bring your friends and families!  Let Frederick County know that we are interested in our future!

All Lady Hawks, sign-ups for helping with trivia night are in Mrs. Levins room C302.

Have a great day!
