Urbana vs. Glenelg varsity football: Photo of the Day 9/20/2019

The Urbana Hawks varsity football team faced off against the Glenelg Gladiators on Friday, September 20th at Legacy Field. It was a perfect night for football, as the stands were packed with over 1,000 fans, and the weather conditions could not have been much better. The Hawks overcame a 28-14 halftime deficit to defeat the Gladiators, 49-42, in overtime. It was a very high-scoring, entertaining game from start to finish. The win moved the Hawks to 3-0 on the young season; they will travel to Ashburn, Virginia to face the Broad Run Spartans this coming Saturday, September 28th. Meanwhile, the Gladiators fell to 2-1 in suffering their first loss; they will visit the Westminster Owls on Friday. Hawks quarterback Kyle Howes was named Player of the Game following a very impressive outing in the comeback win. Howes finished with 305 passing yards and four passing touchdowns, to go along with 96 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, including what would ultimately be the game-winner in overtime.
