Today, the Urbana Hawks faced off against the Linagnore Lancers in action-packed basketball games.
The girls’ team faced a tough challenge struggling to match Linganores offense, and despite their best efforts, the Hawks weren’t able to close that gap resulting in a 34-60 loss.
In the boys’ game, the Hawks battled in a closer contest, and got the score pretty close. The game was marked by intense plays and strong efforts on both sides but Urbana couldn’t edge past the Lancers consistent scoring. The Lancers ended up securing a 57-47 win, but that leaves our Hawks even more determined to revive themselves in future games.
Senior Diego Orellana (#2) reflects on the loss and what the Hawks can do to be better next time, “I think we just need to be ready to play from the start and be more mentally prepared for big games like this.”
While it wasn’t the outcome the Hawks had hoped for, both teams displayed pretty great sportsmanship throughout the entire night.
