As the weather finally starts cooling down and everyone at Urbana pulls out their hoodies, fall drink season is officially in full swing. Whether it’s from Starbucks, Dunkin’, or the gas station, students definitely have their favorites this time of year. The pumpkin spice latte is still the go-to choice—sweet, warm, and an easy way to feel a little more awake in the morning. For people who prefer something cold year-round, the iced pumpkin cream chai has come in a close second. The spicy chai with the pumpkin cold foam tastes like a fall dessert, and it’s been showing up everywhere before first period. Another favorite this year is the cookie butter iced latte, which has that smooth espresso taste with a cozy, spiced sweetness that makes it stand out from the usual drinks. The brown sugar shaken espresso has also stayed popular this season, mostly because it gives fall vibes without going full pumpkin—sweet, caramel-like, and great for an afternoon pick-me-up. Of course, apple cider is still the classic option if you want something warm without the coffee. Overall, these drinks show how everyone has their own way of getting into the season, whether you’re all about pumpkin, prefer something iced, or just need something to survive early mornings.
