Salma Elgamal, Reporter
Salma Elgamal is a senior at Urbana High School who joined the newspaper this year in order to communicate with her peers and learn more about writing. She is excited to join journalism as a reporter. In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym to lift, going on walks, and cooking new recipes. She also enjoys going out with her friends to the mall, getting food, and doing fun activities. If she could interview anyone, it would be SZA, her favorite music artist. Her favorite class in school is AP Biology because of the connections she made and the fun class environment Mr. Connolly created. She plans to pursue a career in medicine and become a child psychologist. Her goal is to attend the University of Maryland after graduating, major in biology, and minor in psychology. She is most excited to expand the newspaper by creating guides for students, parents, and upcoming high schoolers on navigating high school academics, college applications, and course selection. Salma can’t wait to see how the newspaper turns out this year!
