Carter Kuhar is an inside linebacker for Urbana High School class of 2026. Carter had a big game last week against crosstown rival Oakdale in the Battle of Ijamsville recording multiple tackles and causing a fumble and a takeaway for the defense early in the game. Also helping out in the secondary with a pass breakup.

Carter said in an interview after the game that, in order to focus up and dial in for a big game, he likes to eat a pregame meal from Sheetz that contains a large order of cheese curds and a large Dr. pepper. He also said “Getting my pads right and having the right music in is key to having a big game.”

Urbana came out and ultimately lost a hard-fought battle at Oakdale losing 24-45 despite Kuhar’s strong performance.   

Carter also said “When everyone is mentally ready and together as one team I feel confident we can beat anyone in the area, our team can play at a different level when everyone is working together and gelling.”

Athlete of the Week, Carter added, “ Keeping our heads up and moving on to the next week gives us the best chance to have more success.”
