Anna Rigg
Anna Rigg is a senior here at Urbana High School. As she walked the ins and outs in her four years of high school, she found what she loves. One of those loves include theater. In her freshman year, Anna didn’t do anything extra curricular. But once she got into theater, she found her calling. To her, being able to be involved in theater allows her to immerse herself into someone else. Putting a personal spin on an already existing character is remarkable. Along with creating a new spin on characters, she was also able to hang out with her friends while performing on the UHS stage.
Anna not only thrives on stage as an actress, but also as the Secretary to the International Thespian Honors Society. One of Anna’s favorite parts of high school was the involvement of ITS in Minithon’s Hawk Harvest back in October. ITS hosted a haunted hallway in the event. It was the highlight of the evening. Anna, as well as the other ITS officers, created the story of the hallway. To her, it was like she directed and costumed the whole scene. The creative collaboration was so much fun to be apart of. The fact that people at the event highlighted the haunted hallway made Anna proud to be apart of ITS.
As her days here at UHS come to a close, Anna plans to go the college route. At the moment, she is between choosing the University of North Carolina Wilmington or Towson University. She is not quite ready to dip her toe into the real world, and is ready to learn more. To her, college is a good buffer between high school and the real world. At college, Anna plans to major in communications with a focus on journalism. She would love to write for a magazine or other written platform as a journalist. Anna wants to start with a communications degree, with the possibility of minoring in creative writing. She would love to write novels one day and simply write creatively. Writing is therapeutic to her. It has always been an outlet for her and is her dream to put those stories out there.
