Sasha Zvaners, Reporter

Sasha Zvaners is a senior here at Urbana High School, graduating this upcoming 2021/2022 school year. Sasha is excited to be involved in the school community newspaper, with an interest in latest news/news broadcasts and writing about topics that interest her and her fellow classmates. Sasha's father works with related news and reports which has interested her to join journalism. This year as Sasha is a senior, her last year of high school before college she is trying to plan out what she wants to do for the future and journalism has become a great outlet for Sasha to be able to start becoming interested in journalism/news reports.

Sasha in fact outside of school enjoys the hobbies of baking for her friends and family, art such as drawing and painting, reading, and track and field where she competes at a competitive level in pole vault. Sasha is very passionate not only for her dedication to the schools community newspaper but for self improvement, getting up early in the morning to stay productive consistently, and making sure to get things done on time.

When asked “ if you could travel anywhere, where would you go” Sasha had replied “Australia, despite the dangerous animals she considers it still a beautiful place to be able to travel to and experience in life.” She proves how no matter the darkest situations you must focus to see the light, which relates to her seeing Australia for its true beauty. Sasha describes herself as a very optimistic person, open minded, kind hearted, and caring person.

Sasha's favorite music genres are rock, pop, and the latest hits, but her music taste can as well vary depending on her mood. She personally feels that if she could do anything to change the world, she would “ make sure everyone in the world has access to food, water, and shelter.” Sasha tends to put others before herself making her a better person, and a great representation of journalism and her school's community newspaper.

Sasha dedicates her last year here at UHS to make new memories, have fun, enjoy every moment, and to give it everything she's got!
