Urbana High School has thousands of students that are a mystery to others and themselves. Walking the halls we see familiar faces. Dunja Senic can now become one of them. Dunja was born on May 11, 2006 in Serbia. She moved to the United States when she was four years old. Dunja still visits Serbia every year. She has an older brother going into college. Her family follows Serbian traditional customs and foods at home. She also speaks Serbian and is learning French. Dunja mentioned Serbian education is more difficult than here in the U.S.

She moved from North Bethesda in Maryland two years ago to Urbana. Her opinion on school is that it’s a great community and a nice place to meet new people. She is currently in her sophomore year. Her thoughts on COVID/quarantine/restrictions are that people had free time to find themselves away from school and society.

Growing up is stressful as Dunja mentioned when asked If she was ready to become an adult. Dunja wants to become a Veterinarian or a therapist. She has an interest in psychology. When she goes to college she would prefer to stay close to her family. Dunja described herself as caring, loyal, and lastly creative. She used to do gymnastics before she moved here.
