Leyla Falcon, Reporter

Leyla Falcon is one of many juniors coming back in-person at Urbana High School this year. During her three years at UHS, she’s managed to find things to enjoy in school. Her favorite class is sociology and her favorite subject overall is math. Even with these favorites, she still manages to succeed in all her classes, no matter the subject matter.

Though her life may have been affected by the pandemic, Leyla still finds time to have fun outside of school and social media. While she doesn’t play any team sports or participate in any clubs, she finds time to take hikes with her family in the mountains surrounding Frederick and Urbana. She enjoys spending this time simply enjoying nature and taking some time away from the chaos of the times.

Through her years in UHS, Leyla has found that some of the coolest memories she has at school are meeting her new teachers each year during all her new classes, and simply being able to experience the different personalities and classroom environments she encounters along the way. As for working with The Hawkeye, she initially decided to take journalism as a filler class, but found it interesting and cool based on the introduction on the first day.

After leaving UHS, Leyla plans on taking a gap year in between her studies in order to decide what she plans to study. She then plans on going to community college to get any basic classes out of the way, before moving onto a four-year college of her choosing.

Her socials are her snapchat [leyla_falcon] and her instagram [leylaafalcon].
