Nicole Cueto, Reporter
Nicole Cueto is a freshman at Urbana High School. She played basketball for two years and flag football for one year before an ACL injury took her out. She is now on her road to recovery through physical therapy. When she’s not resting, she loves going to the gym to work out and do cardio to stay active. In her free time, she enjoys journaling and writing, as well as watching her favorite TV show—Gossip Girl. She is also bilingual, speaking English and Spanish, thanks to her Peruvian background.
Her reason for joining journalism was to enhance her skills as a writer/editor and learn important components of being a good journalist. Her favorite school subject so far is engineering, crediting her love for the subject to her middle school teacher, Mrs. Hall. While keeping her options open for future careers, she would like to study law or become an orthopedic surgeon. Some article ideas for the Hawkeye include covering sports events, writing news about Urbana, and voicing the opinions of students. She would also like to take part in the newspaper’s photography.
