On December 1, 2017 a new addition was revealed to the Urbana High students, two brand new microwaves. The cafeteria placed the two new additions next to the vending machine for all to use.
Mr. David Franceschina introduced the idea to the school after having seen the same plan be put into play at a previous school. Administration worked with him on the concept and were able to buy them for a great price during the holiday sales.
The microwaves are for all students to warm up any breakfast, lunch, or after school snack. “We just hope it will give students some more food options,” stated Franceschina. The microwaves will allow students to have hot food from now on in school.
